A month of notes, condensed

20 Aug 2026

Everything from the past month that was worth keeping, edited down into one piece — the arguments that survived and the ones that did not.

I keep a running file of half-formed ideas and, once a month, throw most of it away. What follows is what was left standing after this round. Three of them held up well enough to write about properly, one turned out to be a rediscovery of something I wrote in the spring, and two collapsed the moment I tried to give an example. The collapsed ones are included, because a bad idea explained clearly is more useful than a good one left vague.
